Rickey D. Gross

Rickey D. "Pops" Gross, 58, of Parsons, passed away at 6:45 p.m., Monday, June 22, 2020, at Labette Health.

Rickey Dean Gross was born on June 1, 1962, to Laurence Cecil and Betty Jean (Hopkins) Gross in Independence, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Cherryvale, where he lived in the same family home for many years. He later moved to Parsons to be closer to his family.

For many years, Rickey worked for Kansas Mobile Homes in Parsons. A man loved by many, Rickey enjoyed fishing, riding bikes, taking things apart and putting them back together and spending time at Hoobockers in Cherryvale.

He and Norma Bullock were married. The couple later divorced.

Survivors include:

One daughter – Nikki Gross of Independence, Kansas

Two sisters – Denise Schierlman of Cherryvale, Kansas

Debbie Hooper of Cherryvale, Kansas

Nieces and Nephew – Lisa Gross, Jodie Shierlman and Danny Hosfelt

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gordon Gross;and one sister, Sherry Gross-Hosfelt.

Following cremation, a private family celebration of life will take place. Services are under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
