Rickie Dale Stanley, 56, of Parsons, died at 6:10 a.m., Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
He was born November 24, 1957 in Oswego, Kansas to Marvin Dale and Ramona Jean (Strickland) Stanley. He was a 1976 graduate of Chetopa High School and received an Associate degree in accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Through the years, he had worked as a penitentiary specialist for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in both Leavenworth, Kansas and Florence, Colorado, until retiring in 2007.
He enjoyed golf, fishing and weapons and shooting.
Survivors include:
One Brother – Doug Spunaugle Broken Arrow, OK
Two Sisters – Shirley Spunaugle Duncannon, PA
Pamela (Stanley) Strickland Parsons, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to help defray funeral expenses.
