Ricky L. Wolverton, 73, of Parsons, passed away at 5:01 p.m., Friday, June 9, 2023, at Labette Health Emergency Department.
Ricky Lee Wolverton was born on July 13, 1949, to Howard Leon and Henrietta (Blackburn) Wolverton in Parsons, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Parsons, graduating from Parsons High School in 1967. Following high school, Ricky attended Parsons Junior College for one year.
For over 20 years, Ricky worked as a welder at Ruskin Manufacturing in Parsons. He had also worked with the Local 798 Union out of Tulsa as a welder assistant on the pipeline. In earlier years, he spent six months as a fireman. Over the years, Ricky had ownership in different businesses including Van Magic, Rick's Convenient Mart Store and Diamond Jims Bar & Grill.
He loved working on his corvette and working outside. Watching Western shows and reading Western books were also favorite activities.

Two sisters – Gail Gallo of Parsons, Kansas
Gerry Wolverton of Parsons, Kansas
Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, "Rollie" Wolverton.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons. Burial will follow at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. Friends may stop by from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursday, to sign the register at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
