Robert D. "R.D." Ackley, 66, of Parsons, died at 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Labette Health.
He was born April 28, 1947, in Parsons, Kansas, to Clarence D. and Frances R. (Thronebury) Ackley. He grew up in Parsons where he attended Washington Elementary School and was a graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont.
Through the years, he worked as an over-the-road truck driver. He was an avid collector of Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoyed riding his Harley, "Blackie".

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, James "Perch" Ackley, on April 4, 2009.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
