Robert E. "Bob" Lockwood, 69, of Parsons, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, in Durant, Oklahoma.

Robert Eugene Lockwood was born on October 6, 1950, to Eugene Earl and Dorothy J. (Green) Lockwood in Wellington, Kansas. As a young boy, he grew up and attended school in Wellington until moving with his family to Parsons in 1964. He graduated from Parsons High School in 1969 and then earned an Associate's degree from Labette Community College. From 1973 to 1983, Bob was a Parsons police officer. He then worked at Parsons State Hospital and Training Center until his retirement. For several of those years at PSHTC, he worked in the ASH Cottage.

He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in the past and attended Center Bethel Church for a time. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events. He also enjoyed going to casinos and playing poker and pitch. Participating in Fantasy Football and Baseball were also favorite activities.

On June 25, 2016, Bob and Mary A. Willey were united in marriage. She survives of the home.

Three step-daughters – Sandy Lyons (Eddie) of Chandler, Arizona

Pam Burris of Parsons, Kansas

Debbie McDaniel of Chandler, Arizona

Twelve grandchildren – Alyssa, Avary, Ansley, Adelyn, Karter, Rogan, Kendal, Kahlen, Alexzandrea, Aalayah, Jace and Ariana

Three sisters – Darlene Jump (Thomas Mac) of Richmond, Texas

Roberta Sharp, his twin, of Parsons, Kansas

Sandy Shears (B.J.) of Altamont, Kansas

There will be a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2020, at the Parsons Arboretum. Inurnment will take place at a later time at Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Since Bob had been an organ recipient, the family suggests memorial donations to either, the Midwest Transplant Network, the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation of America. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
