Robert E. "Bob" Webster, Sr., 82, of Altamont, died at 9:15 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2008, at Labette Health.
He was born August 8, 1925, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, to Lee and Lizzie Ellen (Horn) Webster. He moved, as a child, with his family to Oswego where he grew up and attended schools. He graduated from Oswego High School and attended Parsons Junior College.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. Following his discharge, he returned to Oswego. Through the years, he worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, Kraft Foods, and later the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center until retirement in 1992.
He and Leta C. Palmer were married September 14, 1951, in Picher, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
He enjoyed fishing and sporting events. He was a member of the Sherman City Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, one daughter, Debra Pierce; and one grandson, Jonathan Webster.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at the Center Bethel Union Church. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2008, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
