Roberta J. Howard, 89, of Parsons, died at 12:45 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Parsons Good Samaritan Society.
She was born January 27, 1919, in Parsons, to S. Clarence and Ethel (Foster) Jackson. She grew up and attended schools in Parsons graduating from Parsons High School and later Parsons Junior College.
For a time, she worked as a legal secretary in the law office of Glenn Jones. She then served as Administrative Assistant, for many years, at Labette County Medical Center where she later retired.
She and George C. Howard were married October 31, 1948, in Parsons. He survives.
She enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling and opera. She especially enjoyed spending time with her dog and companion, Sassy.

One Daughter – Robbie Douthit Tulsa, OK
Six Grandchildren – Tracy Brownewell, Craig Brownewell, Tiffany Yarnell, Kevin Brownewell, Sean Howard and Jaime Gonsalves
Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. Friends may call at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home after 1:00 p.m., Wednesday.
