Roland W. "Rollie" Wolverton

Roland W. "Rollie" Wolverton, 50, of Parsons, died at 11:30 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2013 in the Emergency Room at Labette Health. He had been in his usual health and death was not expected. He was born September 16, 1962, in Parsons, Kansas, to H. Leon and Henrietta (Blackburn) Wolverton. He grew up in Parsons where he attended school and was a 1980 graduate of Parsons High School. Through the years, he had worked at Roosters Thriftway, IMI Business Forms and most recently the City of Parsons. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons. He enjoyed woodworking, fixing things, animals, music, fishing and playing his guitar. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He and Kyleen Pearce were married in 1989 in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced. Survivors include: His Mother – Henrietta Wolverton Parsons, KS Two Sons – Jesse Leon Wolverton Lawrence, KS Travis Wayne Wolverton Parsons, KS One Daughter – Nicole Hockett Caney, KS One Grandson – Gabriel Hockett One Brother – Rick Wolverton Parsons, KS Two Sisters – Gail Gallo Parsons, KS Gerry Wolverton Parsons, KS He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Wolverton, on December 28, 2003. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Parsons.
