Ronald L. "Ron" Wylie, 74, of Bartlett, died unexpectedly Monday, October 23, 2017 at the home of his daughter in Chetopa.

He was born July 13, 1943 in Oswego, Kansas to Nellie Eletha Burrows.  As a young boy, he grew up and attended schools in Oswego and the rural Altamont area.  In the 1960's, Ron served in the United States Army.

He lived in the Oswego, Bartlett and Chetopa area his entire life.  Through the years, he worked as a laborer at B & D Building in Chetopa and Diamond Coach in Oswego.  He also contracted with Stamco in Oswego as a self-employed siding installer.

He enjoyed being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He and Betty Jo Ann Greenwood were married April 17, 1987 in Miami, Oklahoma.  She preceded him in death March 23, 2003.

Numerous Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren

Several Nieces and Nephews

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jerry Wylie; and two sisters, Jonell Edmonds and Charlotte Remington.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.  No services are planned at this time.
