Roy M. Brinson, 68, of Parsons, died at 5:53 p.m., Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at Labette Health.
He was born January 30, 1944, in Lexington, Nebraska to Wilton William and Glenrose Ethel (McCarter) Brinson. As a youth, he moved with his family to Winlock, Washington where he attended schools.
He then served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964. Upon his honorable discharge, he lived in Springfield, Missouri, Winona, Mississippi, and Missouri where he operated a roofing business. After moving to Parsons in 1972, he worked for the Katy Railroad for 15 years and Columbian TecTank 18 years before retiring in April of 2011.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and playing softball. He also enjoyed playing pool and bowling.
He and Kathy Woods were married December 30, 1965 in Winona, Mississippi. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Charlie Joe Brinson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2012 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors given by the Brown-Bishop Post #704 Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home.
