Roy E. Fair, 85, of Chetopa, died at 2:31 p.m., Monday, May 4, 2015 at Chetopa Manor Nursing Home.
He was born February 9, 1930 in Windsor, Missouri to James and Nora (Kirk) Fair. As a young boy, he attended school in Miami, Oklahoma.
Roy served from 1952-1954 in the United States Army during the Korean War.
On November 26, 1954, he and Marie Riley were married in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2014.
For a time, he worked in construction as a mason prior to his employment with Warwick's Market in Chetopa. He retired after 42 years of service with Warwick's.
For a number of years, Roy attended the Assembly of God Church in Chetopa where he served as board member and assistant Sunday School superintendent. Most recently, he had attended the Church of God in Chetopa. He enjoyed making furniture and gardening.

One Daughter – Rebecca Batchelor Parsons, KS
Five Grandchildren – Bill Davis, Victor Batchelor, Tiffany Batchelor, Rebecca Batchelor and Chad Batchelor
Two Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Billy Bob Fair Grand Junction, CO
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Lake Creek Cemetery near Bartlett. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time, on Thursday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
