Roy "Neil" Graver

Roy "Neil" Graver, 89, of Erie, died at 1:08 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

He was born October 12, 1920, in Las Animas, Colorado, to Bert Lee and Elizabeth A. (Kimball) Graver. At the age of six months, he moved with his family to Kansas where they lived nine miles northwest of McCune. He attended schools in the Union and McCune areas.

Following high school, he worked as a mechanic, steamfitter, and eventually was engaged in farming northwest of McCune.

He and Winona Ruth Hammonds were married October 26, 1941, in Girard, Kansas. She preceded him in death on December 22, 1984. On February 7, 1987, he and Freda (Amos) Wright were married and resided in Erie. She survives of the home.

He was a member of the Bean Town Campers and had been attending the First Christian Church in Erie. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, working on cars and playing cards.

One Brother – Thane Graver Osage, OK
Numerous Nieces, Nephews, Stepchildren and Friends

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 1, 2010, at McCune Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
