Roy C. Weaver

Roy C. Weaver, 58, of Mound Valley, died at 5:14 a.m., Friday, August 11, 2006 in the emergency room at the Labette County Medical Center in Parsons. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

He was born February 3, 1948 in Hannon, Missouri to Marvin and Romaine (Richardson) Weaver. He grew up and attended schools in Liberal, Missouri where he graduated from high school in 1967. He attended Missouri Southern State College in Joplin one year and Missouri University in Columbia, Missouri one year. He was presently employed as a conductor by the Union Pacific Railroad. He had worked for the Katy and UP Railroads 31 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Altamont Christian Church and the United Transportation Union No. 507.

He married Cleta I. Mackey on December 30, 1967 in Sheldon, Missouri. She survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronald Weaver in 1953 and Marvin Weaver, Jr. in 1999.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in the Liberal, Missouri Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., Monday, August 14, 2006.
