Ruby D. Black, 49, of rural Welch, Oklahoma, died at 4:14 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She was born May 8, 1959, in Coffeyville, Kansas, to Floyd "Sack" and Shirley Jean (Mitchell) King. She grew up in the Wann, Oklahoma, area and attended schools there. Through the years she worked at various jobs.


She and Rick Black were married February 4, 1983, in Coffeyville. They had lived in Mound Valley and were presently residing on the family ranch south of Edna.

She enjoyed playing bingo and cards and helping others. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was a member of the Altamont Independent Baptist Church.

Four Sisters - Rita King Kyle, TX
Glenda Brady and her husband, Terry Atlantic Beach, FL
Shauna King and her husband, Bob Claremore, OK
Shandy Kinzer and her husband, Grant Wann, OK

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008, at Elm Grove Cemetery, north of Edna, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2008, at the Crosstimbers Community Church in Edna. Friends may call at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont from 1-5:00 p.m., Saturday.
