Rue Anna Everitt, 104, of Chetopa, died at 6:20 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Chetopa Manor Nursing Home.
She was born April 27, 1910 in Craig County, Oklahoma to Frank and Mamie (Brown) Stice. As a young girl, she attended Stice School in Craig County.
In 1927, she married Marvin Mount. He preceded her in death in 1933. In 1937, she and Frank Seigel were married. They later divorced. On May 17, 1953, she and Willard Everitt were married in Bentonville, Arkansas. He preceded her in death November 17, 1989.
She was a charter member of the Faith Baptist Church in Chetopa. Rue enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include six grandchildren, Danny Pease, Lareeca Seigel, Garry Seigel, Terry Seigel, Tonya Seigel, and Ruella Nading; and numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Frank Seigel, Jr., Jim Mount, and Wylma Pease; one granddaughter, Judy Reed; one great-grandson, Danny Pease, Jr.; three brothers, and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Faith Baptist Church in Chetopa. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m., on Friday, at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.
