Ruth I. Donaldson, 97, of Parsons, died at 5:50 a.m., Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Society in Parsons.
She was born July 25, 1913, in Wittenberg, Missouri, to Frank and Allie (Smith) Thompson. Through the years she lived in Washington, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, Overland Park, Kansas, and Reeds Spring, Missouri. For over 30 years, she owned and operated the Commercial Development Company in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
She loved cooking, gardening, and spending time on Table Rock Lake with family and friends.
She and James C. Donaldson were married in the late 1960's. He preceded her in death October 5, 1985.
Survivors include:
One Son – Dr. Robert Rinkenberger and wife, Barbara Plano, TX
Two Grandchildren – Kendall Rinkenberger
Karey Roe and husband, Bobby
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Roger Rinkenberger; and daughter-in-law, Margo Rinkenberger.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Cherry Mound Cemetery near Westphalia, Kansas. The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
