Samuel K. Tallman, 73, of Mound Valley, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017 at his home.
He was born September 25, 1943 in Mound Valley, Kansas to Earl D. and Jessie P. (Cook) Tallman. He grew up in Mound Valley where he attended school and graduated from Mound Valley High School in 1961.
On February 9, 1967, he was inducted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge on February 7, 1969, he returned to the Mound Valley area. For several years, he worked as a truck driver.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his friends.

Special Friends – Art and Sandy Nash Altamont, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Luther Tallman; one sister, Verna Merrick; two nieces, and one nephew.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 7, 2017 at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Dennis with military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars, of Parsons. Funeral services are under the direction of the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Altamont.
