Sandra G. "Sandy" Hinman, 62, of Parsons, passed away at 6:18 a.m., Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Ascension Via Christi in Pittsburg.
She was born on April 3, 1959, to Ernest Ray and Wilma June "Billie" (Jones) Hinman in Parsons, Kansas. As a young girl, Sandy grew up in Parsons, attending Meadow View Grade School and graduating from Labette County High School in 1977. For a time, she worked in the Dietary Department at Labette County Medical Center.
An active member of the Parsons Church of the Nazarene, Sandy loved her church family. She especially enjoyed being a part of the Joy Class.
Sandy's life was her family. She and her only daughter, Thressa, had a very close relationship. She loved going shopping with Thressa. Her greatest joy and purpose in life, though, was babysitting Thressa's children. This gave Thressa the opportunity to work and to know that her children were safe and loved. Many good memories were made while spending time with her grandchildren, whether it be going out to eat, going to the movies or to the Independence Zoo. Other favorite activities included cookouts, fishing and doing puzzles.
Survivors include:
One daughter – Thressa Kite and her husband, Michael, of Richards, Missouri
