Schuyler J. "Bud" Blair, 91, of rural Erie, died Thursday, September 9, 2010, at the home of his daughter, Marcia Schuette, in Jackson, South Carolina.
He was born July 24, 1919, in rural St. Paul, Kansas, to Ed and Elsie Blair. He grew up and attended school in St. Paul and was a 1936 graduate of St. Paul High School.
During World War II, he served in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Centerville Township in Neosho County where he was engaged in farming.
He and Dorothy Jean Houghton were married March 30, 1946, in Pittsburg, Kansas. She preceded him in death on July 10, 1998.
Survivors include:
Two Daughters – Marcia Schuette and husband, Glenn Jackson, SC
Sally Blair Jackson, SC
One Grandson – Jacob Schuette and wife, Carla Lincoln, NE
Four Great-Grandchildren – Ryan, Briana, Caitlyn and Brandon
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, William "Bill" Blair.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Lakeview Cemetery near Erie. The Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of arrangements.
