Scott R. Phillips

Scott R. Phillips, 48, of Parsons, died at 9:35 p.m., Thursday, October 24, 2013 in the Emergency Room at Labette Health. He was born September 14, 1965 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to James Phillips and Sharyl (Swofford) Phillips. At the age of 2, he moved with his family to Parsons where he grew up and attended schools. Scott was a graduate of Parsons High School. He worked in construction ten years before becoming the assistant greenskeeper at the Katy Parsons Golf Club for ten years. He most recently had worked in construction. Scott enjoyed hunting and fishing. He and Stacy Belknap were married on July 3, 1993. They later divorced. Survivors include: Mother – Sharyl Phillips Parsons, KS Father – Jim Phillips Parsons, KS One Daughter – Kacy Phillips South Mound, KS One Stepdaughter – Kayla Bryant South Mound, KS One Brother – Nick Phillips Oswego, KS One Sister – Marilyn Wilson Tulsa, OK Numerous Nieces & Nephews He was preceded in death by one brother, Chad Phillips, on May 9, 2009. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 4-5:00 p.m., Sunday, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Scott Phillips Memorial Fund.
