Scott A. Souders

Scott A. Souders, 38, of Chetopa, Kansas, died at his home on Monday, August 12, 2019.

On July 5, 1981, Scott Allen Souders was born to Steven Wayne and Patricia Sue (Carnahan) Souders in Coffeyville, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Chetopa, Kansas.  He graduated from Chetopa High School in 1999 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Math from Pittsburg State University in 2004.

Scott was an electrical engineer at Cardinal Scale in Webb City, Missouri, later for Westar Energy in Oswego, Kansas, and then Electrical Power Systems of Kansas City. He was currently employed by ABM in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

He was a member of the First Christian Church in Chetopa, Kansas. His favorite activities included hunting, fishing, working on his truck and especially spending time with his beloved boxer, Rusty.

Grandmother – Juanita Carnahan of Altamont, Kansas

One brother – Brian Souders and his wife, Laci, of Green Forest, Arkansas

One sister – Crystal Souders and her fiance, Josh Akin, of Anderson, Missouri

Nieces – Stevie Lynn Souders and Joanie Hayes

Nephews – Bill Hayes and Bobby Hayes

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Eugene Carnahan, and his paternal grandparents, Wayne and Mary Souders.

The funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2019, at First Christian Church in Chetopa. The family will receive friends 3 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa.  Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa.
