Sharon L. Gray, 74, of Oswego, passed away at 6:10 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the home of her daughter, Joyce, in Independence.
She was born on October 7, 1944, to Orville and Thelma (Taylor) Puckett in Columbus, Kansas. Growing up in Columbus, Sharon graduated from Columbus High School in 1962.
Following high school, Sharon worked in nursing homes as a CNA, a medication aide and an activity director. Sharon was a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbus. One of her favorite things to do was visiting Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Sharon's greatest enjoyment came from spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
On May 29, 1962, Sharon and Wallace L. Gray were married in Columbus, Kansas. In 1981, the family moved and made their home in Oswego, Kansas. Wallace L. Gray, Sr., preceded her in death on April 9, 2006.
Survivors Include:
Two Sons – Wally Gray, Jr. and his wife, Shelly, of McCune, Kansas
Billy Gray and his wife, Krissy, of Oswego, Kansas
Two Daughters – Joyce Gray of Independence, Kansas
Anna Tyree and husband, Melvin, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma
Eight Grandchildren
Five Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Ronnie Puckett and his wife, Judy, of Baxter Springs, Kansas
One Sister – Cindy Clough and her husband, Dennis, of Jackson, Tennessee
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Gray, Sr.; her parents; one brother, John Puckett, and one great-granddaughter, Addison Gray.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Assembly of God Church in Oswego. Burial will be in the Oswego Cemetery.
