Sharon K. Willis, 65, of Parsons, died at 11:30 p.m., August 3, 2006 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin following a lengthy battle with cancer.

She was born on October 8, 1940 at Waunita, Kansas to Clinton and Edith (Jones) Myers. She lived in Arkansas City and California for a time before moving to Parsons in 1954 where she graduated from Parsons High School in 1959. She worked for the Parsons Presbyterian Manor for 20 years retiring in 2001.

She enjoyed going to Las Vegas and the casinos there. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She collected Native American artifacts and antique dolls. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Parsons.

One Step-Daughter: Lori Jacob – Corona, California

Father: Clinton Myers – Parsons, Kansas
One Brother: Clinton Myers, Jr. – Parsons, Kansas
Three grandchildren she raised: Ashley Wible, Gerrick Wible and Shelby Brinson

In addition to her mother, Edith Myers, she was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Jarret Gamblian, Dwayne Gamblian and Christopher Yeoman.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at the Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. John Chastain officiating. The family will receive friends at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m., Monday. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and these may be left at or mailed to the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main St., P.O. Box 374, Parsons, Kansas 67357.
