Stanley M. Benge

Stanley Michael "Mike" Benge, 71, of Parsons, passed away at 4:45 a.m., Thursday, February 2, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his family and holding his wife's hand.

He was born on October 12, 1951, to Raymond Emory and Lillie Ilene (Washburn) Benge in Alexandria, Missouri.  He grew up and attended school in New Boston, Iowa.

In 1970, Mike entered the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1971.  Mike spent his professional career working in many different positions in restaurant kitchens.  He especially enjoyed working in steak houses and managing kitchens for major chains and trade centers.

His greatest joy came from spending time with his family.  He also enjoyed watching John Wayne and black and white movies and listening to classic country music.

On January 14, 1983, Mike and Leah L. Langford were united in marriage in Thayer, Kansas.  She survives of the home.

Three sons – Raymond Benge (Amanda) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma

John Benge (Brittany) of Bolivar, Missouri

Gregory Benge of the home

Two daughters – Shadaiva Benge of Pittsburg, Kansas

Olivia Benge of the home

Three grandchildren – Isis Benge; John Benge, Jr.; and Davina Benge

He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Aria Benge; a grandson, Emory Benge; three brothers, Raymond Benge, Guy Benge, and Marshall Benge; and two sisters, Crystal Hartsock and Verna Malone.

There will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date and announced by the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
