Steven R. Merrill

Steven R. Merrill, 32, of Parsons, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born October 9, 1982 in Parsons, Kansas to Nick Charles and Cresenda Lynn (Williams) Merrill. He grew up and attended school in Parsons until moving to Georgia and later Texas with his family where he also attended school. Steven returned to Parsons five years ago. He enjoyed computers, online games, and going to flea markets and yard sales. He also loved animals, especially his dog, Jack. Survivors include: Grandmother – Charlotte Merrill Parsons, KS One Brother – Christopher Lane Parsons, KS Stepfather - Manuel Lane and wife, Cindy Parsons, KS Three Aunts – Carol Merrill Parsons, KS Lisa Merrill Parsons, KS Cassandra Blasi and husband, Tom Shawnee, KS Nephews – Nicholas and Elijah Cousins – Heather, Sarah, Haley, Anthony and Olivia He was preceded in death by his parents; paternal grandfather, Jim Merrill; maternal grandmother, P. Marie Beckley; and his uncle, James D. Merrill. Following cremation, a memorial gathering will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2015 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
