Susan E. "Sue" Fleming

Susan E. "Sue" Fleming, 71, of Parsons, died at 3:03 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at her home. She was born March 3, 1943, in Parsons, Kansas, to Wilfred "Bun" and Marion (Daugherty) Neargarten. She grew up in Parsons where she attended St. Patrick's Elementary School and was a 1961 graduate of St. Patrick's High School. On June 24, 1961, she and Ronnie M. Fleming were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. She worked at Fred Ronald Manufacturing Company and later she and her husband owned and operated Fleming's Final Touch and Sherwood Cabinets. She also provided care to the elderly. She was a member of the Mother of God Catholic Church in Oswego. She enjoyed going to Las Vegas and embroidery and, in earlier years, bowling. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always made sure they had whatever they wanted. Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Fleming, of the home; two sons, Rod Fleming and his wife, Denise, Parsons, KS, and Jeff Fleming and his wife, Janet, Burlington, KS; one daughter, Debbie Hinman, Parsons, KS; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Mike Neargarten and his wife, Orlena, Little Rock, AR; one sister, Patricia Cox, Chanute, KS; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Cabot; a brother-in-law, Don Cox; and one great-grandson. The funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Mother of God Catholic Church in Oswego. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
