Teresa K. (Lewis) Astbury, 51, of Parsons, died at 7:39 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
She was born October 23, 1961, in Liberal, Kansas, to Bill Lewis, Sr. and DeEtta (DeCow) Lewis. As a young girl, she grew up in Liberal and later moved with her family to Coffeyville where she graduated from high school and earned a nursing degree from Coffeyville Community College. Prior to college, she had served in the United States Army.
She had worked as a registered nurse at Windsor Place in Coffeyville and also in home healthcare. After moving to Parsons in 1999, she worked as Director of Nursing at the Good Samaritan Society and was currently employed by the Parsons State Hospital and Training Center where she worked as a registered nurse.
She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed her koi pond and animals.
On January 7, 2009, she and Christopher T. "Chris" Astbury were married in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death February 14, 2012.

One Sister – Paula Ballew and husband, Donnie Dearing, KS
Following cremation, memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 6, 2012, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Monday, November 5, 2012, at the funeral home.
