Teresa "Terri" Henderson

Teresa "Terri" Jane Henderson entered rest on December 7, 2023, at the age of 67, in Olathe Kansas.

She was born on January 6, 1956, to John and Tressie Henderson in Kiowa Kansas.  Terri grew up in Kansas, California, and Wisconsin. She attended Tomah High School in Tomah Wisconsin.

On November 16, 1975, Terri gave birth to a baby girl, Shannon Renee' Henderson. John and Tress provided a loving home in which Shannon was raised. As the years grew on, Shannon's role became less of a daughter and more of a caregiver to Terri.

Terri lived for many years at Belmont Towers in Parsons, Kansas. She loved being with family, riding her trike around town, shopping at St. Vincent de Paul's and Gold & Silver Pawn. She always looked forward to bingo and church on Sunday, where she could tell her friends at Belmont Towers all about her family.

Terri moved to the Kansas City area in 2014. This brought her closer to her favorite teams, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals. Whether it was watching the game or gathering for the holidays, Terri was always looking forward to spending time with her family, enjoying delicious food and a cold Budweiser.

Terri also enjoyed arts and crafts, painting her nails and wearing hats with "bling". She loved listening to music on her headphones, taking pictures with her Polaroid camera and giving any cat or dog a comfy lap to lie on. Trap "Trappy" was her favorite pet cat whom she cared for and loved dearly.

Terri is survived by her daughter, Shannon Templeton (Bryan); three granddaughters, Bailie Templeton (Tyler Thompson), Brooke Templeton (Ramon Santiago), and Hannah Templeton (Robert Green); one great-grandson, Mason Templeton; one sister, Pamela Wright; two brothers, Greg Henderson (Denise), and Gary Henderson (Laurie); and several nieces and nephews.

Terri was proceeded in death by her parents; one brother, Steven Henderson; and granddaughter, Laura Templeton.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, 405 Main St. Parsons, KS. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., following the visitation. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery near Parsons, KS.
