Rural Chetopa

Terrie L. Swanwick, 58, of rural Chetopa, passed away the morning of Monday, February 1, 2021, at Freeman Hospital in Joplin.

Terrie Lynne Jones was born on August 3, 1962, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  As a young girl, she moved with her family to Oswego, where she grew up and attended school.  In 1980, she graduated from Oswego High School.  She continued her education at Labette Community College, earning an Associate's degree in Radiology.

For many years, Terrie worked as a radiology technician at the Parsons Clinic and later at Ortho Four States and Mercy Clinic Orthopedics in Galena.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She also loved her dogs, Jasper and El.

In August 1987, Terrie and Tony Swanwick were united in marriage in Florida.  He survives of the home.

Two sons – Jordan Swanwick and his wife, Sammy, of Carl Junction, Missouri

Erik Swanwick of Vinita, Oklahoma

Two grandchildren – Lola Swanwick and Sutton Swanwick

Her mother – Vickie Jones of Oswego, Kansas

Two brothers – Glenn Jones of Hallowell, Kansas

Tracy Jones of Wichita, Kansas

Her uncle – Michael Kimbrell of Chetopa, Kansas

Her dog – Jasper

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the Community Bible Church in Chetopa.  Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopa.  Friends may call to sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Chetopa. The funeral service can be viewed live on the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home Facebook page.   For all events, social distancing guidelines will be followed, including the requirement of face masks.

Memorials are suggested to the Bartlett Grade School Wild Program.  Please make checks payable to Bartlett Activities Assoc/WILD.  These may be left at or mailed to Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 346, Chetopa, KS  67336.
