Terry L. Hurley

Terry L. Hurley, 55, a lifelong resident of Parsons, died at 7:20 a.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011. He had been in his usual health and death was unexpected.

He was born November 23, 1955, in Parsons, Kansas, to Leo and Agnes (Holding) Hurley. He grew up and attended schools in Parsons and was a 1974 graduate of Parsons High School.

Following high school, he began his 36-year career with the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad that merged in 1988 with the Union Pacific Railroad. He was presently working as a track supervisor.

He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons, a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, the Elks – BPOE Lodge No. 257, and Teamsters Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way. He enjoyed spending time with his family, yard work, fishing, hunting, traveling, and sharing a good laugh with friends.

He and Cynthia Yanez were married July 5, 1975, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. She survives of the home.

Numerous Nieces & Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Agnes Hurley; and his beloved dog, T-Bone.

The funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The rosary will be at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons where the family will receive friends immediately following the rosary.
