The Rev. Edward Lee Reynolds, 70, of Altamont, passed away at 9:31 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at his home.

He was born September 27, 1947 in Columbus, Kansas to Lloyd Eldon and Christina Marie (Christiansen) Reynolds.  His twin brother, Gary D. Reynolds, passed away shortly after birth.  Edward was named after an uncle who is entombed in the USS Arizona in Pearl Harbor.  He grew up in Columbus where he attended school and graduated in 1965 from Columbus High School.

He and Janice K. Barrett were married November 5, 1965 in Columbus.  Through the years he worked for Reynolds Salvage Yard, as a pressman for Vacco-Hy in Girard, as a route salesman for Page Milk Company in the Baxter Springs and Columbus areas, and later for the M-K-T Railroad.

He then attended Berean College of Springfield, Missouri, where he became a licensed minister on September 24, 1987.  On April 12, 1988, he was ordained.

He pastored at the Assembly of God Church, now Crosstimbers Community Church, in Edna, the Assembly of God Church in Greensburg, Kansas, and the Four Corners Assembly of God Church in White Lake, Wisconsin. Due to his declining health, the family returned to Columbus in February of 1997 and in 2007 moved to Altamont where they have lived since.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, woodworking, and gardening.  He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

For several years, he served as past President and on the Board of Directors at SKIL in Parsons.
