Theresa Fienen, 62, of Parsons, passed away at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, 2020, at her home.
Theresa Havay was born on January 16, 1958, to Paul and Elizabeth (Tarapchak) Havay in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. As a young girl, Theresa grew up in Milnesville, Pennsylvania and attended schools in the Hazleton Area School District. After graduating from Hazleton Area High School in 1975, she served in the United States Army from 1976 to 1978.
For a time, Theresa was the bookkeeper for her husband's construction business. In 2005, she earned her Bachelor's degree in education from Pittsburg State University. Theresa worked for Tri-County Special Education Cooperative and was currently a special education teacher at Parsons Middle School.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She also loved fishing and collecting antiques.
On June 27, 1980, Theresa and Stephen Fienen were married in Yuma, Arizona. He survives of the home.
Survivors include her husband, Stephen, of the home; her son, Michael Fienen (Michaele) of Pittsburg, Kansas; two brothers, Michael Havay (Richard Affolter) of Hollis, New Hampshire and Paul Havay of Milnesville, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until service time. Military Honors will be given by the Brown-Bishop Post #704, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Parsons.
