Thomas Odel Altom

Thomas Odel Altom, 74, formerly of Wichita, died at 11:00 p.m., Thursday, October 5, 2006 at Prairie Mission Retirement Village in St. Paul, Kansas.

He was born April 13, 1932 to Herman R. and Susie B. (Newton) Altom near Pangburn, Arkansas. He grew up and attended schools in Arkansas. In June of 1950, he moved with his family to Wichita where he attended Plainview High School and graduated in 1951. For a time, he worked for EFD as a truck driver. He had retired from the Wichita school district as a custodian. He had resided at Prairie Mission Retirement Village since June of this year.

Numerous Nieces and Nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2006 at Henderson Cemetery in Pangburn, Arkansas. The Forbes Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons is in charge of funeral arrangements.
