Thomas J. "Tom" Crumrine, 62, of Chetopa, passed away early Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at his home.
He was born June 27, 1954 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Everett Joseph and Virginia Elizabeth (Cox) Crumrine. For a time, he lived in St. Louis before moving with his family to Welch, Oklahoma where he grew up and graduated from Welch High School.
Through the years, he worked at Vinita State Hospital, Halliburton in Coffeyville, and in 1984 started working for the City of Chetopa as a police officer and later served as Chief of Police. He also worked at the jail in Oswego for a time.
He enjoyed playing golf, baseball and enjoyed all sports. He also enjoyed James Bond movies.
He and Debra Baunhofer were married. They later divorced. On November 4, 2000, he and Toni A. Carrell were married in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, survivors include:
One Daughter – Trudi Vail and her husband, Randy Rural Chetopa, KS
Two Stepdaughters – Jennifer Hine and her husband, Jake Oswego, KS
Amanda Carrell Chetopa, KS
Three Grandchildren – Aaliyah Groover, Gavin Vail, and Wyatt Vail
One Great-Granddaughter – Melanie Groover
One Sister – Linda Crumrine Miami, OK
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Community Bible Church in Chetopa. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time, on Monday, at the church.
