Tom Strasser, 77, of rural Parsons, died at 4:39 a.m., Friday, December 19, 2008, at Labette Health.
He was born February 16, 1931, in St. Paul, Kansas, to John Theodore "Theo" and Catherine Cecilia "Kate" (Lancaster) Strasser. He grew up and attended schools in St. Paul, graduating from high school there in 1949.
For 25 years, he worked as a shop foreman for Eddie George Motors in Parsons, a car salesman for Sunflower Sales, and was a rural mail carrier at the Parsons Post Office for 25 years.
He and Carol Mallams were married in 1959. They later divorced.
He loved animals and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and pulling ponies. He especially enjoyed buying, selling and trading cars, and raising horses and cattle.
He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons, a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a 45 year member of Elks – BPOE Lodge No. 527 in Parsons.

Two Grandchildren – Seth Strasser and Danica Strasser
One Brother – Gene Strasser and his wife, Martha Pittsburg, KS
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, John Strasser; and a daughter, Stephanie Strasser.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2008, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Parsons. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in St. Paul. The Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2008, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. The family will receive friends immediately following the Rosary.
