Tonya Jo Harrington, 44, of Parsons, died at 4:55 a.m., Thursday, January 25, 2007 at her home. She had been in failing health.
She was born December 13, 1962, in Iola, Kansas to Edward Gene and JoAnn (Turner) Mattox. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Parsons where she grew up and attended schools. She was a 1981 graduate of Labette County High School in Altamont and had earned an Associates Degree from Labette Community College in Parsons.
Through the years, she had been employed by Ron's IGA in Parsons as deli/bakery manager, G & W Foods in Chanute and Crabtree-Harmon as a school bus driver for USD 503.
On August 2, 1993 she and Geno Harrington were married. He survives of the home.
She loved animals, riding motorcycles and was an active participant in Relay for Life. She especially enjoyed working and being with friends and family. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 29, 2007 at the First Christian Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
In lieu of flowers or plants, the family suggests memorials to the Labette County Humane Society. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, Kansas 67357.
