Vera M. Cramer, 91, former longtime resident of Mound Valley, passed away at 12:42 p.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Labette Health in Parsons.
She was born January 24, 1928 in Hunter, Oklahoma to Otto and Clara (Hauser) Meier. Vera grew up in Hunter where she attended schools and graduated from Hunter High School.
Prior to marriage, she worked in a drug store in Garber, Oklahoma. Following World War II, Vera and John L. "J.L." Cramer were married on December 24, 1946 in Garber. In 1947, the couple moved to Mound Valley where they made their home, raised their family, and farmed. In addition to assisting her husband with farming, Vera also worked through the years at the Mound Valley Co-op, the Katy Clinic in Parsons, and the Altamont Lumberyard until retiring in 1993.
She was a member of the Mound Valley Christian Church and its Helping Hands group. Vera also was a member of the Itchin' for Stichin' Quilt Guild. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, quilting, crocheting, gardening, and being outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and attending her grandchildren's activities.

Bobby Cramer and his wife, Linda, of Parsons, KS
One Daughter – Linda King and her husband, Gary, of Emory, TX
Nine Grandchildren – Craig Fisher, Travis Fisher, Jerrod Cramer, Amber Keiffer, Alyssia Ashenfelter, Amy Eaton, Keli Florence, Megan Fugate, and Brant King
Seventeen Great-Grandchildren
One Great-Great-Granddaughter - Charlie Jo Sims

She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. "J.L." Cramer, on November 9, 2010; two grandsons, Gregg Lee Cramer and Brian Dean King; one great-grandson, Christian Lee Cramer; two brothers, Donald Meier and Ray Dean Meier; and three sisters, Delores "Dee" Kitterman, Golda May Cramer, and Norma Wilcox.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 22, 2019 at the Mound Valley Christian Church. Burial will follow in Mound Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the Mound Valley Christian Church.
