Verona A. Stammer, 80, a longtime resident of Oswego, and her husband, Floyd Donald "Don" Stammer, died from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Sunday, July 10, 2011, near Dewey, Oklahoma.
She was born October 18, 1930, in Dewey, Oklahoma, to Harry Lee and Lela Mae (Bickford) Pryce. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Dewey where she graduated high school.
On June 24, 1950, she and "Don" Stammer were married in Dewey. While he worked in the pipeline business, they lived in various states across the country and settled in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. In 1972, they moved to Oswego where she worked at the Oswego High School five years.
She was an active member of the Oswego Christian Church. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, quilting, and sewing and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Three Sons – Keith Stammer and wife, Kathy Joplin, MO
Karl Stammer and wife, Pamela Joplin, MO
Kelly Stammer and wife, Linnet Parsons, KS
Eight Grandchildren – Karyn Fry, Keesa Stammer, Aaron Stammer, Andrew Stammer, Elizabeth Cochran, Bryan Stammer, Stephen Stammer and Jeffrey Stammer
Seventeen Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Don Pryce Copan, OK
She was preceded in death by one brother, Carmel "Carmie" Pryce; and one sister, Joyce Fox.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2011, at the Oswego Christian Church. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the church.
