Veta Frances DeGraff, 93, of Parsons, died at 9:05 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010, at Elmhaven East Nursing Home.
She was born May 4, 1917, in Concordia, Kansas, to Harrison and Meta (Gram) Quinnette. As a young girl, she grew up in the Concordia area where she attended schools.
She and Leonard William DeGraff were married in 1939 in Concordia. Following marriage, they moved to Minnesota where they owned and operated a fishing resort. In 1948, they returned to Concordia where she and her husband worked as private contractors. Following her husband's death in 1990, she moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to be near her son, Gary DeGraff, who preceded her in death in October 2006. In October of 2009, she moved to Parsons to be near her grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sapulpa. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and other handcrafts. She loved wearing hats and sharing a good joke.

In addition to her husband and son, she was preceded in death by two sisters, and one grandson, Dana Encarnacion in 1985.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Private family burial will be held.
