Vincent Trotnic

Vincent Trotnic, 91, of Parsons, died at 12:25 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at his home.

He was born July 24, 1920 in West Mineral, Kansas, to Vincent Trotnic, Sr. and Helena (Kovach) Trotnic. He grew up and attended school in rural McCune, Kansas.

For a time, he worked in Salina, Kansas as a welder and mechanic before moving to Parsons where he lived most of his adult life and worked as a welder and mechanic at the M-K-T Railroad for 20 years. He also owned and operated Trotnic Salvage for many years and did welding and other repair work.

He was a member of the National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees. He enjoyed collecting antiques and picking. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He and Juanita G. Packard were married in October of 1940. She preceded him in death on March 11, 1997.

Numerous Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren
One Brother – Henry Trotnic Wichita, KS
Two Sisters – Bertha Woicik Charlotte, NC
Lena Carpenter Oklahoma City, OK

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2012 at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parsons. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m., Sunday, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
