Viola M. Denney, 95, of Parsons, and formerly of Galesburg, passed away at 7:21 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Elm Haven East Nursing Home in Parsons.
She was born February 21, 1921 in Galesburg, Kansas to Bennitt and Bessie M. (Cook) McElroy. She grew up and attended school in the Galesburg area and was a graduate of Galesburg High School.
She was a member of the Galesburg Christian Church. Viola enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, rodeos, and boxing.
She and William G. "Bill" Denney were married February 14, 1993 in Zachary, Louisiana. He survives.

Four Stepsons – William G. Denny, Jr. and wife, Cheryl McComb, OK
Jerry Denney Pueblo, CO
James Denney Shawnee, OK
Jeffrey Denney and wife, Meryl Pueblo, CO
Two Grandchildren
Thirteen Step-grandchildren
Numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, one son, Ronnie Jones; and one stepson, John Denney.
Following cremation, committal services will be held at a later date under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
