Virginia L. Beasley, 75, of Parsons, died early Saturday, October 23, 2010, at her home. She had been in her usual health and death was not expected.
She was born June 23, 1935, in Golden Pond, Kentucky, to Wakefield and Venus May (Richardson) Higgins. As a young child, she moved with her family to Parsons where she attended schools. She worked at Day & Zimmerman as a production worker for 24 years.
She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, and cooking. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She had attended the First Christian Church in Parsons.
She and Jack Beasley were married December 1, 1969, in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced.

One Son – Wayne McKinnis Topeka, KS
Four Grandchildren
Twelve Great-Grandchildren
One Sister – Ruby Rafferty Whittier, CA
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one son, Randy McKinnis, in 2008; and son-in-law, Robert "Bob" Carey, September 8, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
