Vivian K. Eichinger, 83, of Parsons, passed away at 11:39 p.m., Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Labette Health.
Vivian Kae Bushnell was born on July 22, 1938, to Oral James and Harma Mae (Hughes) Bushnell in Pomona, Kansas. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Pomona, graduating from Pomona High School in 1956.
On July 9, 1957, Vivian and Delbert Ray Eichinger were united in marriage on July 9, 1957, in Pomona. The couple made their home in Pomona. For several years, she was the city clerk for Pomona. Then Vivian was an administrative assistant for USD 287 until her retirement in 1997. In 2014, she moved to Parsons to be closer to family.
She was a member of the Pomona United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crocheting, flower gardening and watching hummingbirds.
Survivors include:
One son – Darren Eichinger and his wife, Jennifer, of Parsons, Kansas
One daughter – Trudy Freeman of Lafayette, Louisiana
Five grandchildren – Paige Hafner, Cheyenne Freeman, Leighla Davis, Kendall Eichinger, and Connor Eichinger
One great-granddaughter – Journnie
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert, on February 9, 1998; one brother, Glen Bushnell; and two sisters, June Hamilton and Florence Hamilton.
Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2022, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Pomona. Services are under the direction of the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home of Parsons.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association. These may be left at or mailed to Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
