Raymond George, 83, of rural Parsons, passed away at 2:25 p.m., Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Labette Health.
Walter Raymond George was born on December 5, 1937, to Fred Ralph and Mona Elizabeth (Kelly) George in rural Oswego. As a young boy he grew up and attended school in rural Oswego. In 1955 he graduated from Labette County Community High School.
Following high school, Raymond worked at Boeing. From 1958 to 1963, he served in the United States Army. He then returned to rural Parsons and worked at the MKT Railroad and later Ruskin Manufacturing. Throughout his life, he raised cattle.
His greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He also enjoyed beekeeping.
On September 16, 1959, he was united in marriage with Jo Peoples in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of the home.

Marcie Smith of Parsons, Kansas
Fifteen grandchildren
Eighteen great-grandchildren
Two brothers – Freddie Joe George of Independence, Kansas
John George and his wife, Terri, of Independence, Kansas
Two sisters – Mary E. Spurgeon of Pueblo, Colorado
Karen Smith and her husband, Don, of Chetopa, Kansas
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Robert L. George and David George; and two sons-in-law, Mike Giefer and Peter Galvano.
There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 3, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in rural Dennis. Friends may stop by to sign the register from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
