Wanda J. Andrews, 93, of Parsons, entered the gates of heaven the afternoon of Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Society of Parsons.
Wanda Jean Swiggart was born on August 20, 1929, to Erman Monroe and Lottie (Daugherty) Swiggart in Douglas, Oklahoma. As a young girl, she grew up and attended school in Douglas, graduating from Douglas High School in 1947.
On June 15, 1947, Wanda and Florian "Sam" Andrews were united in marriage in Douglas, Oklahoma. The couple farmed in Oklahoma until moving to rural Galesburg in 1955. For many years, they farmed and raised livestock in the Galesburg area. In 2009, they moved to Parsons. After moving to the Good Samaritan Society, Wanda was loved by the staff and it could be said that she was one of the "favorites."
Wanda was an active member of the Galesburg Christian Church, where she enjoyed being involved in the Bible school. After her faith in Christ, her family was the center of her life. She was an accomplished cook and seamstress, sharing her talents with her family by preparing delicious meals, canning and making many of their clothes. Just as she loved caring for her children as they grew up, she loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Survivors include:
