Wanda Nadine (Stewart) Gilpin, 81, of Parsons, died at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at the Presbyterian Manor in Parsons.
She was born November 3, 1925, in Picher, Oklahoma, to Alvin and Bertha (Dean) Stewart. The family moved from the Ozarks to Parsons, Kansas, in 1944.
She and James Gilpin were married September 28, 1947. Together, they farmed south of St. Paul for 20 years before moving to McCune where they farmed for an additional 20 years. He preceded her in death on January 11, 1988. Following her husband's death, she moved to Parsons.
She was a member of the First Foursquare Church in Parsons and the Ideal Extension Club. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, David Gilpin; one brother, Captain Alvin Eugene Stewart; and two sons-in-law, Mike Nutt and Fred Miller.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 18, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in St. Paul. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, June 17, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home.
