Wayne O. Wofford, 74, of Parsons, died at 5:20 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2007, at the Golden Living Center in Pittsburg, Kansas.
He was born May 29, 1932, in Inola, Oklahoma, to Hazel (McClosky) Holt. As a child, he attended Douglas Elementary School and later graduated from Parsons High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Following his discharge from the army, he returned to Parsons for a brief time before moving to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he worked as a cab driver and a bar tender. In 1987, he returned to Parsons.
On April 23, 1950, he and Georgietta Jones were married in Parsons. She preceded him in death on July 14, 2001.
He enjoyed playing cards and jazz music.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2007, at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery with military honors given by Brown-Bishop Post No. 704, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25, 2007.
