William Edward "Bill" Taylor

William "Bill" Taylor passed away unexpectedly at age 51 on Friday, June 9. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Melinda, and his beloved children, Meredith and Tristan. Bill was born on December 12, 1971 in Chanute, Kansas to Edwin Peters and Shirley Bowker. He grew up and attended school in Chanute, graduating from Chanute High School in 1990. He was united in marriage to Melinda, the love of his life, on May 28, 1995, she survives of the home. Bill and Melinda made Mound Valley, Kansas their home for the past 26 years. Bill was well known for his incredible work ethic and dedication to providing for his family. He proudly ensured Meredith and Tristan were able to follow their passions and dreams. Bill was a loyal employee of Ducommun, devoting the past 17 years to the engineering department. He also spent numerous years at Walmart and Cobalt Boats. Bill found time to enjoy the numerous household projects that Melinda organized for him. He was generous with his time, helping anyone in need.

Bill is survived by: wife Melinda, daughter Meredith, and son Tristan all of Mound Valley; parents-in-law Ronnie and Jeanne Fiscus of Mound Valley; one sister Betty McMurray (Jason) Christy, Bruce of Chanute; one brother Chris Taylor (Stefanie) Cayden, Emily, Bradly of Chanute; one brother-in-law Josh Fiscus (Jessica) Jaya, Jolee; one sister-in-law Tami Schepmann (Trent) Teagan, Tacy of Holyrood; cousin Shiela Proper (Ray) Trevor, Emily, Madelyn, Molly of Yates Center. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father Edwin Peters, mother Shirley Bowker Taylor, paternal grandmother Lavonne Peters, and maternal grandparents William and Emily Bowker.

Celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m., June 13, 2023, at the Western Way Cowboy Church, in rural Altamont, Kansas. Burial will follow at the Mound Valley Cemetery, Mound Valley, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m., Monday, at the Western Way Cowboy Church, in rural Altamont, Kansas.

Bill's pride and joy were his two children, Meredith and Tristan, and their dreams were his dreams. In lieu of flowers and to support their current enrollments, an educational memorial fund has been established and contributions can be made to William Taylor's children Education Fund and may be sent in care of Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, PO Box 374, Parsons, KS 67357.
