William C. Cartright, 89, of Parsons, passed away at 1:15 a.m., Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at his home.

On May 2, 1930, William Clarence Cartright was born to Fredrick William and Beatrice (Clemons) Cartright in Parsons, Kansas. He grew up and attended school in Parsons.

After serving in the United States Marines, William worked as an auto mechanic most of his adult life, including at Butler Motors for several years.

In the past William attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His greatest joy came from spending time with his grandkids and other family. He also enjoyed fishing.

He married Carolyn J. Muller in 1972 in Miami, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2011.

Survivors include:

Two Daughters – Tammy Thomas of Caney, Kansas

Patricia Millard of Parsons, Kansas

Eight Grandchildren

Six Great-grandchildren

One Sister – Doris Drummond of Parsons, Kansas

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn, on May 25, 2011; his infant sister, Annabelle Cartright; and one grandson, Travis Proffitt.

Following cremation, a memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the South Mound Cemetery in South Mound, Kansas. Military honors will be given by the Brown-Bishop Post #704, Veterans of Foreign Wars of Parsons.
