Wilma Allene Albertson, 87, of Parsons, died at 5:20 a.m., Thursday, March 20, 2008, at the Parsons Good Samaritan Center where she had entered earlier this year.

She was born March 30, 1920, in Parsons, to William Martin and Leora Vernice (Maupin) Murphy. She grew up in Parsons where she graduated from Parsons High School in 1937 and later attended Parsons Junior College.

In 1956, she began working at the Parsons State Hospital & Training Center as a licensed mental health technician and retired from there following 29 years of service.

She and Carl R. Albertson were married November 30, 1939, in Parsons. They later divorced.

She was a 70-year member of the First Christian Church in Parsons, its Friendship Sunday school class and Women's Disciple Group, and PSH&TC retired employees "Has Beens".

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Pauline Harlan and Agnes Burks; and two brothers, William Eugene Murphy and Robert Joseph Murphy.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2008, at the First Christian Church in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23, 2008, at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons.
